The Hvar Chess Club is organizing an individual chess tournament called the 2nd Open Hvar 2023 from October 15 to October 21, 2023.

Open chess tournament

The first round is scheduled for October 15, starting at 3:30 p.m. The rounds are scheduled on October 16 at 09:00 and 16:00. October 17 at 15:30, October 18 at 09:00 and 16:00, October 19 at 15:30, October 20 at 15:30, and the last round on October 21 at 09:00.

On October 19, starting at 10:00 a.m., an 11-round blitz tournament will be organized with a game tempo of 3 minutes plus 2 seconds per move.

The open tournament is played according to the Swiss system, FIDE version of 9 rounds, and pairings will be made using the Swiss Manager.

The right to participate

All domestic and foreign chess players who have a FIDE ID number, regardless of title and category, have the right to participate.
The tournament was registered with FIDE for the calculation of the FIDE rating for standard chess and with the HŠS for the calculation of the national rating.

Total prize fund: €13,000 (payment to the winner’s bank account within 5 days)

For female chess players, juniors and cadets, the prizes are added together.
For players over 60 years old and players according to the ELO rating, prizes are not added up.

Registration fee for the 2nd Open Hvar 2023

€30 for cadets (up to 16 years old)
€50 for players with a rating of 2400 and above.
€40 for other competitors
Players who are managed by FIDE under the CRO are obliged to pay the registration fee by October 13, 2023. year on club’s  account

Players managed by FIDE under CRO who do not pay the registration fee by 13.10.2023. year they pay a 50% higher registration fee.

Located in a private bay, with a superb cascading pool and a wide range of activities suitable for couples, families and business events.

The prices are as follows:
A double room for one person is €80 per room per night
A double room for two people is €120 per room per night
The above prices include a full buffet breakfast, dinner and VAT.
Tourist tax in the amount of €1.35 per person per day is additionally charged at the hotel.

The organizer can guarantee accommodation in the official hotel only if the reservation and payment is made on time.

You will receive an invoice for prepayment or provide a credit card that will be charged prior to arrival.

Transfers

If you come by catamaran directly to the port of Hvar:
Our porter will be in front of the catamaran (holding a sign with the inscription Hotel Amfora) in the port of Hvar and will take your luggage, which will be transferred to the hotel by van.
Hotel Amfora is located a 10-minute walk from the catamaran stop in Hvar port.
In accordance with the regulation, and in accordance with the standards of preservation of historical monuments and the environment, motor vehicles are not allowed to enter the old town center of Hvar, and therefore the transport of passengers is not allowed.
