International open chess tournament
After a two-year break due to well-known reasons, ŠK Pula is again organizing the 34th Open Pula international chess tournament this year. The Pula Open has been the biggest tournament in Croatia for years, and it is also special in that 70 percent of foreign players and 30 percent of local players compete in it, which is a real rarity. However, people come to Pula not only to play chess, but also to rest and enjoy Pula’s beautiful beaches and other sights that Pula has to offer. Given that there was no tournament for two years, this year we expect approximately 160-170 players from over 20 countries. As every year, the tournament will be played at the Park Plaza Histria hotel.
Time control
Time control is 90 minutes, plus 30 seconds for each move played from the beginning to the end of the game, and the Swiss is played for 9 rounds. Regular rounds are played every day from 16:30, except rounds 3 and 9, which start at 09:30 and 10:00, respectively. All chess players who have a FIDE ID number have the right to perform. The tournament will be rated for international and national ratings.
